Business Plans for Startups and Small Businesses
Clear, well-researched plans you understand and can defend in front of a lender, investor or your own team.
I combine MBA training in strategy and finance with hands-on operations and supply chain experience, so the plan covers how the business will actually run, not just the pitch.

What a plan includes
A typical plan follows the structure the U.S. Small Business Administration describes, tailored to your audience:
- Executive summary
- Company description
- Market analysis and target customers
- Competitive analysis
- Organization and management
- Products and services
- Marketing and sales plan
- Operations and supply chain plan
- Financial projections (spreadsheet model)
- Startup costs and funding request
- Key assumptions and risks
- Milestones for the first 12–24 months
Types of plans
- Lender-ready plan for a bank or SBA-backed loan application
- Investor plan with market sizing approach, milestones and use of funds
- Internal operating plan to align a team on priorities, budget and KPIs
- Lean plan: a short, focused version for testing an idea quickly
How it works
- Free 30-minute call about your business, audience and deadline.
- Scope & quote in writing, including what information I’ll need from you.
- Research & model: market and competitor research and a financial model built on assumptions you approve.
- Draft & revise with you, section by section.
- Handover: the final plan plus an editable financial model you can update.
Free help is also available from the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network and the SBA Massachusetts District Office.
Honest limits
- A plan can’t guarantee funding or success.
- Projections are estimates based on stated assumptions, clearly labeled as such.
- I don’t provide legal, tax, accounting or investment advice. Your attorney and CPA should review the relevant sections.
